Currency can be exchanged in the airport at Banco Nación. Teller machines are available and work with most major credit cards. Public phones are either coin or card-operated. Cards are available at the airport. You can also dial #19 to make a collect call. A bus company (Manuel Tienda Leon - http://www.tiendaleon.com.ar) offers transportation to downtown Buenos Aires at $45 (argentine pesos). The ride takes about 40 minutes. At the bus first stop in Buenos Aires, mini-vans redistribute passengers at no extra cost within an extended area (always near downtown). The ticket stand of the Manuel Tienda Leon company is the first stand after you exit customs. A taxi ride from the international airport into downtown Buenos Aires costs approximately $120 (argentine pesos). We recommend that you use official taxis only. There is also a public transportation bus that serves downtown Buenos Aires at a cheaper rate, but we do not recommend it if you carry a significant amount of luggage. If you do take this bus we recommend the differential service (signaled by a D behind the windshield). The bus service “Manuel Tienda León” takes you from the International Airport in Ezeiza to Aeroparque or to their terminal located within a few blocks from the Bus terminal in Retiro. For a small supplement you can ask to be taken in a minivan from the terminal of Manuel Tienda León to the bus terminal. You can also take a taxi since it is just a few blocks away. Weather in Buenos Aires and Mar del Plata Buenos Aires and Mar del Plata are located in the southern hemisphere, so seasons here are at the oposite of the nothern hemisphere countries. Therefore, it is the summer (and hotest) period in Argentina in March. Temperatures in Buenos Aires during this month are usually over 25 Cº, but in Mar del Plata is slighty colder and it became cooler at night.
