Arrival information

For those of you who arrive at Buenos Aires Ezeiza international Airport, it will be convenient to change some money at the Banco Nación branch in the airport. There are also ATM machines in the hall that accept main credit cards. The local currency is the Peso (Argentino),  $.

If you need to make a call from the airport, there are public phones that work with coins or telephone cards (sold in the airport), or dial #19 for collect calls.

There is a bus company (Manuel Tienda León http://www.tiendaleon.com.ar) that provides transportation to downtown  Buenos Aires for  $ 22, around U$S 8 or E 6 (see below for the exact exchange rates). The bus takes around 40 minutes. At the first stop there are vans that distribute passengers to different areas dowtown without additional cost. The bus tickets have to be purchased in the Manuel Tienda León kiosk, in the airport hall just after the customs (and before meeting the crowd of waiting people) .

If you are two or more, it may be faster and more convenient to take a taxi, that costs around $60. We strongly advise to take only official taxis, that have to be reserved in the same Manuel Tienda León kiosk area next to the customs.

Conference location

The workshop will be held in the Ciudad Universitaria, where the Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales de la Universidad de Buenos Aires is located. It is possible to reach Ciudad Universitaria by buses No. 28, 33, 37, 42, 45, 107 y 160. Since not all buses of these companies reach the university, you need to take one  that shows a sign writing  "Ciudad Universitaria"  beihnd the wind shield. The Computer Science and Math Departments (Departamentos de Computación y Matemática) are located in the first pavillion, Pabellón 1, close to the entrance gate of the university: you need to leave the bus in the first stop of Ciudad Universitaria. One-way  fair is  $ 0,80 and has to be paid on the bus using only coins: once you have said  "ochenta" to the bus driver, you have to put the money in the ticket machine close to the driver, and keep the ticket it issues. No need to put the exact change but you need to have coins since the machine does not accept bills and the driver does not change money.

Telephones

On the ground floor of the  Pabellón 1, Ciudad Universitaria, there are public telephones for local and international calls. They use cards that may be purchased in the kiosk close to the building entrance. There is also a "Locutorio" next to the Pabellón 2 entrance, for more private local and international calls and fax sending.  Locutorios are very common in the city as well, and are really convenient since cheaper than the hotels for communications (including internet).
