The purpose of the Symposium is to honor Professor Luis Caffarelli on the occasion of his 60th birthday. To that intent we will gather some of the most renowned specialists in the area of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations and Free Boundary Problems with researchers, graduate students and young doctors from Argentina and the Region in order to present the recent advances and techniques in the field.

The common denominator of the invited speakers is their strong connection to Professor Caffarelli mainly as collaborators on some of his work in this field.

We wish to generate a suitable environment for discussion and development of new collaborations. In order to achieve this purpose we will avoid a great number of lectures and their superposition. In this way, we will let some free time to promote informal conversations among participants.

We encourage graduate students and recent PhD's from Argentina and Latinamerican countries to apply for support if it is needed for their participation.

The Symposium will take place at the Gran Hotel Dorá, Mar del Plata, Argentina, March 17th to 20th, 2009.
